Daily responsibilities:
Design and implement Azure SQL database solutions based on business requirements, ensuring scalability, performance, and security.
Collaborate with development teams to optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and database schema for efficient data retrieval and storage.
Monitor and maintain the performance of Azure SQL databases, identify and resolve bottlenecks, and implement performance tuning techniques.
Ensure high availability and disaster recovery for Azure SQL databases through replication, failover mechanisms, and backup/restore strategies.
Implement security measures and access controls to protect sensitive data stored in Azure SQL databases, adhering to industry best practices and compliance requirements.
Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, including performance problems, data integrity, and connectivity errors.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Azure SQL databases with other systems and applications, ensuring seamless data flow and integration.
Document configurations, procedures, and guidelines related to Azure SQL databases for reference and knowledge sharing.
Required skills:
4 + years of experience in using and writing SQL queries
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications in Azure SQL technologies are a plus.
Proven experience working with Azure SQL databases, including Azure SQL Database and Azure SQL Managed Instance.
Strong understanding of relational database concepts, SQL query optimization, and performance tuning techniques.
Proficiency in implementing high availability and disaster recovery solutions for Azure SQL databases.
Solid understanding of database security principles and experience implementing access controls, encryption, and auditing for Azure SQL databases.
Knowledge of the English language that allows free business communication
Ability to work in a team environment
General knowledge of a combination of the following MSFT technologies preferred: SQL Server, Windows Server, Failover Clustering, Hyper-V, T-SQL
